Practicals, Jobs, Thesis Opportunities

June 2018 - 2 doctoral thesis projects are available in the frame of the new SFB1309 “Chemical Biology of Epigenetic Modifications” and the DFG Graduate School GRK1721 (more details)
Ideal candidates will have wet lab experience in biochemistry, chemistry, physics, and/or structural biology. Previous experience with protein expression and purification is ideal. Previous RNA and NMR experience is a plus, but not required.

June 2018 - 1 BSc/MSc thesis position available
We are currently looking for a student to work on a exciting Structural Biology project about a protein involved in NBIA (Neurodegeneration with Brain Iron Accumulation).
The student should be highly motivated and have a strong interest in Structural Biology (NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography),  biophysical techniques and  Protein Biochemistry.
Previous experience in Protein Biochemistry is desirable. Location will be HelmholtzZentrum für Gesundheit und Umwelt (Neuherberg) and BNMRZ (Campus Garching).

Start date: September/October       Contact: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Practicals, "Mitarbeit am Arbeitsplatz"

Practicals and lab rotations are available in protein / RNA biochemistry,  (basic) NMR experiments and analysis of protein or RNA spectra.
Please send a notice (including a short CV) to Hanso Kang (hyunseo.kang (a) tum.deThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) for further information.

Bachelor or Master theses

Bachelor and master thesis projects are available in the area of biological NMR and biochemical studies of proteins, RNA and protein ligand complexes. Please directly contact Michael Sattler (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Doctoral theses and postdoc positions

We are always looking for excellent, highly motivated doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows.
Doctoral thesis and postdoctoral research projects are available in different aspects of our research:

- Structural biology of proteins, RNA, protein complexes linked to RNA biology (splicing, non-coding RNAs), peroxisomal biogenesis or cellular signaling.
- NMR methods, integrated structural biology (i.e. combining NMR with small-angle scattering)
- Structure-based drug design, targeting protein-protein interactions and disease-linked proteins.

Please directly contact Michael Sattler (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) for inquiries.
